The fear beneath the excitement

What if my child eventually needs to heal from me?

If you grew up feeling unseen, criticized, controlled, or emotionally disconnected from your mother, pregnancy can awaken a terrifying question: What if I repeat the same pattern?

You may be accomplished, capable, and confident in your professional life. You know how to work hard, solve problems, and succeed. But becoming a mother can bring you back to ground zero—facing the most important role of your life without experience, certainty, or a healthy model to follow.

You are not destined to mother the way you were mothered. But changing the pattern takes more than promising yourself you’ll do better. It begins by emotionally preparing for motherhood before your baby arrives.

Emotional preparation for motherhood

Prepare for the relationship—not only the arrival.

You can prepare the nursery, research the birth, and organize every practical detail. But motherhood will also demand you to respond when you’re tired, triggered, uncertain, or overwhelmed. That is the preparation we do together.

Recognize what you’re carrying forward from your own childhood

Understand the emotional patterns and expectations you inherited so they don't hijack your reactions outside your awareness.

Create space before you react

Learn how to regulate your emotional responses so stress doesn't automatically allow old patterns to be in control.

Choose what kind of mom you'll be

Get clear about the relationship you want with your child and practice responding in ways that support and build it.

The goal is not perfect motherhood. It is greater awareness, more choice, and a relationship built with intention from the beginning.

You are not destined to mother the way you were mothered.

Meet Tali Lindberg

I know what it means to decide the pattern stops with you.

Long before I became a mother, I knew I wanted a different relationship with my children than the one I had experienced growing up. I didn’t want them to feel unseen, silenced, or afraid to be themselves.

After earning my MBA from Yale, I stepped away from my professional path and spent 24 years as a full-time mother, including 20 years homeschooling my four children. Motherhood became the most demanding—and most meaningful—work of my life.

Now, as a Master Life Coach and Master NLP Coach, I help professional women prepare for the emotional side of motherhood before their babies arrive—so they can enter this new relationship with greater awareness, confidence, and choice.

Questions you may be wondering

Before we talk…

Here are a few things you may want to know.

What happens during the discovery call?

This is a private, one-on-one conversation about what your pregnancy has brought to the surface, the relationship you want to build with your baby, and the mother you want to become. We’ll also explore whether coaching with Tali would be the right next step for you.

Is the discovery call really complimentary?

Yes. There is no charge and no obligation to continue. The purpose is to understand what you are experiencing, clarify what you want, and determine whether working together would be a good fit.

Do I need to be struggling or in crisis to schedule a call?

Not at all. You may simply recognize patterns from your childhood that you do not want to carry forward. Preparing now gives you the opportunity to work through those concerns before exhaustion and the demands of everyday motherhood intensify them.

When during my pregnancy should I do this work?

You can begin at any stage of pregnancy. The earlier you begin, the more time you have to understand your patterns, practice emotional regulation, and intentionally prepare for the relationship you want with your baby.

How is coaching different from therapy?

Coaching focuses on where you are now, what you want to create, and the emotional skills and choices that can help you move forward. It is not psychotherapy, medical treatment, or a substitute for care from a licensed mental-health professional.

What if I’m not sure whether coaching is right for me?

That is exactly what the discovery call is for. You do not need to arrive with the right words, a diagnosis, or a clear plan. You only need to be willing to talk honestly about what is concerning you and what you want instead.
